My Story

Alana Mokma

“The story we tell ourselves about ourselves and our lives either empowers or dis-empowers us, it either opens us to new possibilities or shuts us down.” – Debbie Ford in Courage: Overcoming Fear and Igniting Self-Confidence.

Hi! I’m Alana. And this blog is my journey. Some of the Stories you see here will be serious – stories from my past or deep thoughts about life, love, grace and acceptance. Other posts are much lighter in nature and encompass my interest for fashion, personality styles and the occasional silly video.

I’ve lived for years with the goal of segregating who I am – the professional, the dancer, the writer, the fashionista and the deep thinker. Depending who I was around, they only were allowed to see certain parts of me. As a result, I lost who I was because these parts could not survive alone. I’m now picking up the pieces and gathering them all back to one place [this blog] and sharing the full spectrum of me with you. My hope is that you too will begin to reclaim all the pieces of you that you have lost along the way.

The story you tell yourself about yourself and your life will either empower you or dis-empower you. It will either open you up to new possibilities or it will shut you down.

My story is about wholeness – the good, the bad and the plain ol’ ugly.

If you are intrigued, I recommend you go to the main page now and click under stay connected so you don’t miss a post. We have lots to talk about. :)

Alana
